« The ‘farm to fork’ strategy is one of the core components of the Green Deal: ‘The Farm to Fork Strategy is at the heart of the European Green Deal aiming to make food systems fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly.’(1) It is therefore all the more astonishing that there has been no impact analysis of the ‘farm to fork’ strategy to date.
1. Why has there not yet been an impact analysis of the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy?
2. When does the Commission intend to carry out an impact analysis of the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy?
3. What steps will the Commission take in order to carry out an impact analysis of the ‘Farm to Fork’ strategy as soon as possible?

Réponse donnée le 21 janvier 2022 par Ms Kyriakides au nom de la Commission européenne
« The Commission Communication of the Farm to Fork Strategy (1) sets out a long-term vision to transform the way food is produced, distributed and consumed. While not departing from the direction of travel and the level of ambition set therein, the overall impact of the initiatives and targets contained in the strategy will depend on the policy choices that still are to be developed. Specific impact assessments are envisaged for all Farm to Fork legislative proposals with significant potential impacts. The launching dates for public consultations and impact assessments will be published on the Europa website (2).
Moreover, as laid out in the Farm to Fork Communication, the Commission will monitor the transition to a sustainable food system and collect data regularly to allow a comprehensive assessment of the cumulative impact of all envisaged actions in this strategy. The Commission will review the Farm to Fork strategy by mid-2023 to assess whether the action taken is sufficient to achieve its objectives or whether additional action is necessary.
